Dry Cleaning &
Gown Preservation
Specialist cleaning, stain treatment and heirloom boxing for wedding gowns, occasion wear and delicate couture — handled by the people who make them.
Why us
A couture gown should never be cleaned like an ordinary garment
Hand-beading, silk tulle, French lace and structured corsetry all react differently to solvent, heat and pressure. Because we build these gowns ourselves, we know exactly how each one is constructed — where the boning sits, how the beading is anchored, and which seams can and cannot take a press. Your gown is cleaned in-atelier by hand, not sent through a conveyor.

How it works
Five careful steps
- 01
Drop-off or collection
Bring your gown to the Goodwood studio, or book a courier collection anywhere in greater Cape Town.
- 02
Inspection & quote
Every garment is inspected under light — fabric, beading, stains and existing damage are logged and a firm quote is confirmed before any work begins.
- 03
Specialist clean
Cleaning is matched to the fabric: silk, tulle, organza, satin and heavily beaded pieces are each handled differently, with beadwork protected by hand.
- 04
Press, finish & repair
Hand pressing and steaming, plus any loose beads, hooks or hems re-secured before packing.
- 05
Return or preserve
Collected on a padded hanger in a breathable bag — or sealed into an acid-free heirloom box for long-term storage.
Turnaround
Standard 7–10 working days
Heavily beaded or badly soiled gowns may need 10–14 working days. A 48-hour rush service is available on request. We recommend cleaning your gown within 4–6 weeks of your wedding — champagne, perspiration and make-up oxidise into permanent stains if left.
