Wedding Gown Rentals

1. Booking & Payment

The full rental amount is required upfront to secure your date. No rental booking is confirmed until payment has been received in full. A refundable security deposit of R3,500 per gown is payable before collection of the gown. This deposit is separate from the rental fee.

2. Hire Period

The standard hire period is 3 days. The gown must be collected no earlier than 2 days before your event and returned no later than 1 day after your event. Late returns will incur an additional daily charge of R500 per day. Extensions must be requested and agreed in advance.

3. Gown Condition & Sizes

All rental gowns are rented as-is in standard UK base sizes (UK 8–20 and beyond). No permanent alterations will be made to any rental gown. Temporary clip-in alterations for the “Customise on the Rail” option are reversed upon return. The client accepts the gown in its base size and condition at the time of collection.

4. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of R3,500 per gown is payable before collection. This deposit is held as security against damage, staining, loss, or late return. The full R3,500 will be refunded within 3 business days of the gown being returned in good condition, on time, and with all accessories intact. Any damage, staining or loss will be deducted from the security deposit before refund, or invoiced separately if costs exceed R3,500.

5. Damage & Loss

The client is fully responsible for the gown from the moment of collection until it is returned to Saarahjasmin Couture. Any damage — including but not limited to stains, tears, rips, broken beading, missing embellishments, or general wear beyond normal use — will be assessed upon return. The cost of repairs or replacement will be deducted from the security deposit or invoiced to the client if repair costs exceed the security deposit held. In the event of the gown being lost or stolen, the client will be liable for the full replacement cost of the gown.

6. Cleaning

Clients must not attempt to wash, dry-clean, or steam the gown themselves. All post-hire cleaning is handled by Saarahjasmin Couture and is included in the rental fee. Any attempt to clean or alter the gown independently may result in additional charges or forfeiture of the security deposit.

7. Cancellations & Postponements

All rental payments are strictly non-refundable. Cancellations for any reason — including personal, medical, or event-related circumstances — will result in full forfeiture of the rental amount paid. No refund, credit, or transfer will be issued under any circumstances. Postponements are subject to availability and must be requested in writing. Saarahjasmin Couture reserves the right to decline any postponement request. The R3,500 security deposit remains refundable provided the gown was never collected.

8. Viewing Appointments

Walk-ins are strictly not permitted. All rental viewings are by appointment only. A viewing fee of R450 is payable to secure your appointment. This fee is non-refundable but will be deducted from your rental amount should you proceed with a booking on the same day. Trying on a gown during a viewing does not constitute a booking — your rental is only confirmed once the full rental amount has been paid.

9. Availability & Advance Booking

All gowns are subject to availability. We strongly recommend booking your rental at least 6 months in advance to avoid disappointment — popular dates fill quickly. Saarahjasmin Couture cannot guarantee the availability of any specific gown until full payment has been received and the booking is confirmed.

10. Liability

Saarahjasmin Couture is not liable for any dissatisfaction arising from the fit of a rental gown, as all gowns are rented in base sizes without customisation (unless the Customise on the Rail option is selected). It is the client's responsibility to try on gowns during a viewing appointment and confirm suitability before booking. Saarahjasmin Couture is not responsible for any personal injury, damage to personal property, or consequential losses arising from the rental of any gown.
