Long Sleeve Wedding Dresses That Still Feel Light

More than half of the gowns leaving our atelier have long sleeves. The fear is always the same: will I be too hot, and will my arms look heavy. Both are solved at the pattern stage.
The armhole does the work
A sleeve is only comfortable if the armhole is cut correctly. Too low and you cannot lift your arm without the bodice rising. A properly drafted armhole lets you hug, dance and raise your hands freely.
Sleeve styles worth knowing
Illusion sleeves in fine tulle with scattered lace feel like nothing at all. Fitted lace sleeves are classic and elongate the arm. Bishop sleeves add softness and movement. Cape sleeves float away from the body and are the coolest option in warm weather.
Lining choices
Sleeves do not have to be lined. An unlined lace or tulle sleeve over a lined bodice gives coverage where it matters while keeping the arms cool.
Detachable options
Detachable sleeves let you wear full coverage for the ceremony and a lighter look later, without changing the gown itself.
