Nikkah Dress Colours Beyond White

Nikkah Dress Colours Beyond White

There is no rule that a Nikkah dress must be white, and many of the most beautiful dresses we have made were not. Colour is one of the easiest ways to make a dress feel like yours.

Pure white against ivory

Pure optic white is a cool, bright colour that suits deeper and cooler skin tones and looks crisp under daylight. Ivory is warmer and softer and is the safer choice under the tungsten lighting most halls use. Standing the two beside each other in natural light is the only reliable way to choose.

Champagne and soft gold

Champagne reads as luxurious rather than bridal white and is very forgiving in photographs. Paired with gold beadwork it gives a warmth that suits an evening ceremony.

Blush and dusty rose

A blush Nikkah dress is still unmistakably a bride's dress but softer and more personal. It sits beautifully against most skin tones and reads as a neutral in photographs rather than as pink.

Sage, soft grey and deeper tones

Brides who want something genuinely different often land on sage, dove grey or a muted blue. These take beading well and stand out in family photographs where everyone else is in neutrals.

Test the colour in your venue light

We give you fabric swatches to take home. Look at them in daylight, then under the lighting of the room where your Nikkah will be held. Colour that looks perfect in the atelier can change completely at seven in the evening.
